hi everybody use rsnapshot backups. don't directly external disk. backup data locally via rsnapshot , rsync rsnapshot usb disk. usb disk full though. think doesn't rsnapshots are, instead backs of data every time. possible ? if yes, instead? don't want rsnapshot usb disk directly. answers cheers why don't want rsnapshot drive directly? i've been using rsnapshot several years usb connected drive without issues. folks,   i'm interested know if else has had happen.   about 10 days ago acrobat pro xi installed on laptop @ work.  yesterday entire app disappeared computer mid-day.   yup, disappeared, if had purposely uninstalled it!  gone!  not listed installed program in control panel - programs.  of directories , files in program files directory on c: drive gone.  thing left of destop shortcut, blank (no adobe icon) , text under blank icon remained.   i did quick google search on "acrobat uninstalls itself" , did find many hits indicated others have had acrobat products uninstall themsleves.   but wanted come source , ask:   how many of have had acrobat pro xi, or acrobat product, mysteriously uninstall itself?   thanks. this happening me well. acrobat.exe disappearing program files; else still present. acrobat being installed group policy can't figure out problem. i've swear i've tried every permutation of server, domain, user , password nautilus allow me browse windows shares in ubuntu 12.04 , stupid thing keeps asking credentials. things i've tried: 1. adding following lines on global section of smb.conf: client lanman auth = yes client ntlmv2 auth = no 2. trying connect typing server name , domain in caps per numerous threads on subject. 3. tried via alt-f2, via command line "nautilus smb://blahblahblah", via file>connect server in nautilus, etc, etc, etc. of these end in same frustrating loop of nautilus keep asking credentials/not accepting them. happening on 12.04. third time since released upgrade system hoping stupid bug has been squashed , run problem, forcing me revert. has solution that works been found? i've been using times font on website ages dreamweaver unable use font. missing font list though works in photoshop or other programs. screen font in dreamweaver changed sans-serif font. can still edit every page , shows in times in browser annoying have such different view in dreamweaver.   i noticed else had moved font collection computer when had same problem , solved it. have 1 laptop i'm unable replicate method.   i'm using dw cs5.5 on macbook pro os x 10.9. is font change within dw (dialoge boxes, tools panels, etc) or within web pages (like font stack in css not reading times , feeds second font in stack)? i keep getting not enuf disk space errors intill reboot shows 2gb of space. maybe because 2gb swap partition gets filled using computer. how big hard drive? if have lot of big files movies, perhaps can consider moving them external hard drive. hi guys, first post - please gentle!   i've come across fcp premiere pro cs6. i've acquired canon xf100 camera (the output being mxf files) , have been shooting hd test footage 1920x1080. however, project shooting needs exported pal sd .mov file, used broadcast non-hd community station.   i have tried many different sequence , export settings create sd .mov file, in of them keep getting blurring lines across screen. not sure if should shooting in sd or hd... thought shoot in hd better image before rendering out sd final export.(i used in fcp)   please excuse inexperience... pulling hair out , had little left start with... if sequence , export settings grateful!   thanks, luke. i exported xf100 footage pal sd mov. interlaced did not well. progressive better. hey all! news!   just had share how broke through other side mixture of suggestions adobe community.   1. deleted previous adobe air version in c:/programs (x86)/common files/adobe air files (just pitched version 1.0 file in trash , emptied it).   2. went task manager, clicked services tab, clicked on services... button, made sure windows installer service set auto , enabled (we should enabled).   3. downloaded, , ran windows fixit , found adobe air on list (god if it's not on list) , told go take care of uninstall/ install problems. found registry problem , instal problem , fixed them (good boy fixit ap!)   4. while fixit waited, asked me tell how install went (such caring little app) ran adobe air installer administrator.   5. installed, yipee!!!   6. installed muse cc via creative cloud apps manager. yipee again!!!   7. gave windows fixit  attaboy , sent on way microsoft heartfelt thank you.   and viola! half year of struggles came end!!!   hope helps poor folks have gone throug

dear peeps, i've found threads talk unity side launcher not being relocatable. are, however, closed. in cases, launcher on side fine. don't agree idea 1 should "just live it" on side, me without complaint part. however, wanted describe particular case side-launcher in 12.04 doesn't work me. plea more customizability function, not form. have old thinkpad x41 tablet pc. use exclusively notes , scratch wacom enabled screen. can't use windows , keep sanity, naturally have ubuntu on there, worry free gnu/linux experience. screen rotated profile mode way write on normal piece of paper, unity launcher squeezes available space down width unreasonably small (i have launcher icons set smallest size, resolution on screen isn't high). starting in 12.04, if have launcher auto-hide, can't pop pen, since it's absolute position pointer, not relative. hence highest sensitivity, launcher not pop unless bail on tablet mode opening u

hi all, i've decided linux scene valve's recent developments , building newer i5 rig. have win7 installed on 90gb ssd. it's not going away , need continue using video editing , such. i'm putting ubuntu on brand new 2tb hard drive. right have 200gb partition , swap partition , ... recieve error bootloader. after little investigation, *think* bootloader located on ssd on 100mb partition that's flagged 'boot' according gparted. there's partition on hdd has boot flag, contains win8 dev preview, don't think one's active boot, because see black-and-white text bootloader typically, not graphical win8 one. need enable booting of win7 , ubuntu (bare miniumum)? efi setup or traditional bios one? how can give more information? help. means lot! it sounds efi me, since mention non-traditional boot menu , small partition @ start of disk. install ubuntu on efi
