Thread: Unlocking cores - old topic but I am new, please advice

hi,

have foll combination on rig:
1. motherboard: asus m4a785td-v evo am3 amd 785g hdmi atx amd
2. cpu: amd phenom ii x2 550 black edition

after reading on internet curious see if unlock 2 other cores. able set acc auto, enable unleashing mode , set 4 cores usage. once did system automatically rebooted, did disk check , logged in fine 11.10 ubuntu.

should do? little concerned not sure repercussions if continue this. stress testing should given ubuntu? else should check for? should try overclock? feeling little lost though able unlock cores (cpu-g reported 4 cores after bios tweak).

please advice next steps should be.

thanks,
canon

these cores intentionally disabled amd because of strange/faulty behavior. have manually identify core issues post problem , leave disabled (setting affinity on each cpu separately while running bench). people go 3-cores. if system isn't able boot, there nothing can do. adjusting vcore or other voltages no matter in this.

note more cores have enabled harder overclocking gets.
