hey, have ubuntu 12.04 x64 desktop install, , repeatedly refuse route ipv4 address outside local lan or comcast's network. sshuttle server @ friends house (he has comcast) , i'll able access internet without issue. when issue occurring able ping comcast or lan ips, , if switch tethering off phone issue dissappear. rebooting temporarily, 25% of time. while going on desktop, of servers (which running ubuntu 12.04) can access internet along windows computers, androids & iphone in house. also, if go & grab laptop running ubuntu 12.04 has same issue. have tried rebooting modem, router, swapping both out, etc. issue appears @ other places such @ friends houses, if occuring affet ubuntu 12.04 desktop installs connected particular router. whole issue seems fleeting, yet can't find reliable way resolve it. can post output of code: route -n you might need add sudo in front

after installing ubuntu 12.04 on asus 1225b ok, after one/two days nautilus became very slow, leaving me waiting many seconds opening small folders less 10 files. i'm not going tell tests done (i tried switching unity xfce gnome lxde openbox, nautilus pcman thunar...) @ end understood cause big quantity of files put on desktop. mean i'm used keep files on desktop, happened had i.e. 5/10 main folders on desktop, thousands files inside. the nautilus problem literally , disappeared when moved content of desktop standard document folder in home folder. so, it's clear problem found due hidden work nautilus conten of desktop, maybe creating previews or colletcing other kind of data... manuel p.s. guess issue of desktop content involved when slowness of nautilus disappears using code: gksu nautilus (i mean content of root desktop few files). hi, manuel cappello, have same problem desktop fol

hey! i'm having trouble installing ubuntu server 12.4 usb stick. there no cdrom or hd in machine. drive usb. don't have ubuntu installed. d/l iso , using xboot burned partitioned usb. can boot usb, of course fails when looks .seed file /cdrom. i've spent several hours looking solutions, , tried mounting usb stick , mounting iso image /cdrom. started work, failed. ideas? i'm surprised xboot doesn't work, i've tried few different solutions , stopped looking when yumi http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-mu...t-usb-creator/ worked. build bootable livecd on flash drive. lets boot lots of different oses same drive - no partitioning needed. i grant issue of tv, issue drivers etc, i'm hoping troubleshooting process going. issue : when program or task started contains audio, screen flashes black split second (coming fine), , audio engages second later. same occurs when audio disengaged. example : if open youtube video, screen flash black half second, , audio engage 1 second video. there no further issues provided video remains open. same occurs when playing video files, or audio notifications such chat programs (in case first notification missed, subsequent sounds play fine.) far can gather, seems me video output disengages momentarily while audio can patched through hdmi output of video card. of course wrong. first instinct assume audio disengaged when not in use, , given it's fed through hdmi port, video drivers have re-start (or similar) combine audio. hence, hope it's simple matter of finding way tell audio not disengage when not in use, or tell video driver have aud

i export sequence quicktime file , captions should embedded in export file. exported quicktime file doesn't show captions. can help? exactly version of premiere running? what type of captions? cea-608? cea-708? teletext? when sequence loaded in timeline, can see captions in program monitor? when "captions should embedded in export file," assume means on captions tab in export settings dialog set export options "embed in output file." please confirm. how checking captions in exported clips? player? have enabled caption display in it? hi all,   i running batch process of hundreds of images nightly , @ least few times week batch gets stuck in middle of night because of images  come throguh stop process due popup message says " embedded icc profile cannot used because icc profile invalid ignoring profile" long monitoring can click "ignore" , goes on it's way there no checkbox other error messages tells ignore going forward other error messages.   bottom line come in mornings find whole batch process has been stuck on popup whole night. hanful of 3rd party images have cause , not sure how either a)get photoshop bypass error message , move on or b)fix problem ahead of time when process such large volume of images daily , handful of images might on week.   i have readup on issue , seems related windows vista or xp whenever meta data edited. have been looking way either ignore, bypass or disable popup message in photoshop since trying filter through images not seem way go @ it, since don't kno

in lightroom, right clicking on picture, chose "edit in", 1 of choices "untitled preset".  if choose opens box "edit photo photoshopelementseditor.exe"    i no longer have photoshop elements installed, how eliminate choice? you can delete external editing tab of lightroom preferences menu.....select "untitled preset" in "additional external editor" panel, click on drop-down arrow again , you'll see option delete it. does know if media encoder offers options encoding media @ 10-bit or 12-bit color in single container format?  let's assume it's simple 20 minute video single audio track want deliver 10-bit or 12-bit video in single file.  (i'd happy find codec/container allows me deliver image part @ higher bit depth, too, if it's not possible have muxed same file.)   it seems mxf container avc-intra (or similar) @ 100mbps using 10-bit 4:2:2, cannot seem find how encode format within adobe media encoder cc.   that is, aside these options: - image sequences - dnxhd - apple prores   image sequences okay option, require bump 16-bit color , forfeit single file.  (i'm fine image sequences, , use them time...but question getting 10 or 12 bit color inside single file container.)   dnxhd great option...however, maxes out @ 10-bit color , has limitations on resolution/frame rate.   prores great option.  however, 1 comes same caveats dnxhd...with added frustration , hassle of dealing readin

so after 7 solid hours of tedious ui work in middle of nudging text layer , whole document disappeared. photoshop (cc) didnt crash, didn't populate new window , didn't close it, vanished. it's not in recent file list , can't find anywhere on computer.   i have autosave set every 10 minutes, i'm wondering if these autosaved files located anywhere on computer? photoshop recovers documents after daily crash didn't crash in case there nothing recovered!   any massively appreciated, i've been talking support reps per usual pass me around various temas until cut off. fistful of hair torn out.       cheers   sam  if did not close ps should in in autorecovery.  folder located in scratch disk directory.   i know not now, see often.  save copy under different namne every during project.  there many things can go wrong. hello me. have downloaded wubi , has been awesome. love variants gives you there's question. there program wubi can use other linux distros other ubuntu? preferably backtrack doesn't have backtrack. linux windows installer gerat, backtrack pretty advanced distro , it's unlikely can install within windows unless use virtual machine. might possible through more complex methods wouldn't know that. quick google search tells of called mint4win linux mint, i'm not sure if it's still applicable. i'd suggest searching around , seeing if can find it/if it's you. it's worth noting can use wubi try out other ubuntu flavours or, since presumably have installed, download other major desktop environments (xfce used in xubuntu, kde used in kubuntu, gnome, etc - i'm using enlightenment window manager , liking it). edit: forgot include this link earlier, it's guide installin

hi, bought 'no brand' hard drive off ebay sold new never used. it's 10k rpm 150gb. have been experiencing rash of random segfaults , other bad behavior on new ubuntu 12.04 box (c2d, 4gb, hp dc7800, etc.) ran smartctl on test it. results can seen here: http://pastebin.com/rgkjpqew 2 things stuck out @ me. 1) id#9, disk total life. should around 60 hours. reports @ 16755 hours. tried changing report number minutes , seconds (with -v9,minutes option), neither gave correct results (279hours , 4 hours respectively, neither of correct.) going on? has disk been used years? there other explanation? think disk indeed 'new never used' marketed, or have been had? 2) line "ata error count: 50638" gives me pause. there reasonable explanation that? 50,000 kind of seems lot of errors, many have made in whole life! basically, should return ebayer defective/misrepresented part, or there innocent explanation , maybe drive still sound? try

hi all, weird one.... tested old usb video camera before sending family member them use skype. worked fine in brief test cheese, made short video. when tried use google talk session, heard loud pulsing high pitched audio tone during entire chat. few seconds after hanging up, tone stopped itself. however, computer ran real slow , discovered task manager using 100 percent of processor!! attached screen capture. unplugged camera, no change. closed firefox, no change. uninstalled cheese (i had installed minutes before in order test camera). restarted computer, no change. logged out of account , logged in super users account , found task manager still using system resources. so, downloaded system monitor using synaptic make sure had dependencies included. system monitor showed same type of behavior.....with system monitor running, using 100 percent of system resources. i'm running xubuntu 12.04 in old p4 desktop system (msi motherboard, 1.5 gb of ram).

i followed instructions/video installing archived version of flash player in new motorola droid ultra.  when came downloading latest or of 11.0 versions, received warning doing harm device.  consequences of doing so?  advised not install flash player under these circumstances? android (not adobe) ended support flash last summer. told both google , samsung support "sideloading" software render device useless , voids warranty may have. in other words, you're on own if do.   "dolphin" recommended android browser play flash content. after initial issues getting creative cloud off ground (i had been uploading them creative cloud folder, sync feature became available me, , once turned on realized upon upload had changed time stamps of original files - duplicate nightmare!) noticed on weekend of files missing directory. coworker of mine has had similar problem, protect rest of files moved out of cc directory , turned syncing off. there way me retrieve missing files? i have replied via email resolving issue.
