i have simple logo working on, , there few elements have fill, stroke , drop shadow applied. every time save file , have re-open it, of effects rasterized, , stroke , fill split "grouped" object. maddening.   any suggestions why happening? are these files older version?   do "save as", don't save, because you'll save old version.   gaussian blur has been updated. it's part of drop shadow , because gets flattened when saving older version. i'm *fairly* new linux , new ubuntu. set server run dedicated list server (postfix/mailman), , ease of use, installed gui. system running mission-critical list server major state-wide organization. today had power failure. upon rebooting, got "running in low graphics mode" error. did little research , able boot in command line mode. reinstalled ubuntu-desktop, didn't help. i've tried ctl-alt-f7 switch terminal mode. worked, , tried configure grub text mode, apparently didn't correctly. now, when try ctl-alt-f7 error screen, system continues , display stops after starting web server apache2 checking battery state... system , running; mailman working properly, web interface working, can't prompt log in, either text or gui. way can system boot install disk , files using repair mode. need able log in server. please.

i have done research on , can't seem find solutions, thought ask experts here... here dillema...   i edit off g-raid thunderbolt 8tb drive, working on project on 4tb.  have 8tb drive want use backup, don't want set raid because want able disconnect backup drive , keep in safe place (so if office explodes have backup somewhere else).  since have on 4tb of data, don't want have copy of data backup drive everytime (which takes long time). there way connect backup drive , copy on changed , new files, without having copy on or make duplicates?  (i'm using mac os x 10.9) (copying on project file isn't solution either because cotinually adding new assets , changing old ones).  appreciated!   thanks the fact the 8tb unit raid won't prevent disconnecting , storing offsite.  back-up g-raid drives.   as incremental back-up, pp doesn't provide faciltiy, 3rd party apps do.  new or modified files , copy those.   i manually back-up:  dating work , creating daily folders

i having such issue premiere pro cs6...   well let me first start of have mac os x 10.6.8. i use canon xa10 footage.   i have 3 weddings trying work on , have 6 more go cant start working on them until issue resolved.   the 2 longer ones on hour stop exporting quicktime once hits 79% or more. states "error unknonw when compiling movie"   now, first thought maybe didn't have enough memory or maybe there corrupt file. so cleaned out computer files , broke down film in halves pinpoint corrupt file may be.   well wouldnt know? both halves of both films exported fine.   so decided instead of exporting quicktime use encore. boy wrong. everytime try export encore both premiere , encore crash.   so have no idea doing wrong or how fix it. i frustrated , nervous b/c need these films clients.   and thing getting unknown message , serious message neither of these messages point me in direction.   i need able point me in right direction. do think software issue, ram issue...etc...   a

i have 12.04 on gateway machine 2 interfaces , eth0 gets ip address , dns server ip addresses whole lan isp via adsl modem. want dhclient isc-dhcp-client pass isp dns info resolvconf put /etc/resolv.conf isn't happening. know dns ips coming in modem @ dhcp time because put debugging /etc/dhcp/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/resolvconf , can see them coming through. ip addresses never make /etc/resolv.conf. until now, i've been using machine lan's gateway debian etch , want running on new machine ubuntu. installed standard ubuntu , had network-manager installed, de-installed since i'll using box no changes network in long term. i've dpkg-reconfigured both isc-dhcp-client , resolvconf still no joy. guess issue either a) due removal of network-manager or (b) missing line of config somewhere, or (c) interfering package - have installed dnsmasq instance (default ubuntu package) have searched , down internet , can find other problems

hey guys, i've been playing around system detriment, apparently. have laptop 120 gb ssd split 85/20 between windows 7 , ubuntu with, 750 gb hdd storage well. wanted extend ubuntu partition, went format on , reinstall (i couldn't in gparted whatever reason), , when did had grub errors. after reinstalling error whenever tried configure grub or update it, or upgrade precise pangolin. however, grub loader still worked same. posted error message here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/16773...all-partitions couple of days ago, nobody responded. today playing around again , tried change of device.map stuff , after reboot, greeted grub recovery prompt. boot windows recovery disk , fix mbr, want fix first. it's looking device on /dev/sdb should never have been there. haven't tried install grub there knowingly. saw had boot info script , ran that. here results live cd: code: boot info script 0.61 [1 april 2012] ==============

i'm running ubuntu 12.0.4 , trying burn sl dmg of snow leopard onto blank dvd. every time attempt however, shows message size of file on 2 gib. files larger 2 gib not supported iso9660 standard in first , second versions (the widespread ones). recommended use third version of iso9660 standard, supported operating systems, including linux , versions of windows™. however, mac os x cannot read images created version 3 of iso9660 standard. how overcome dvd bootable on imac. i'm running ubuntu on imac i've been looking way , been trying myself. many instructions seem rely on dmg2img not working me. there tool dmg2iso floating out there too, @ blinkenlights. had no luck image , got various errors. perhaps work image, though. using flash builder 4.6 developed mobile application fits in 640x480 area, , using scaling (scalex , scaley) blow up, it'll fill (most of) screen on larger mobile devices. i'm running twoissues:   (1) textinput (spark) scaled up, not font inside it. normal? workarounds? i automounted windows drive in ubuntu 12.04. works good. have go mnt find windows directory. little inconvenient find folder but... it. glad have automounted! when went sharing options getting: add: cannot share path /media/disk/disk restricted sharing directories own. ask administrator add line " usershare owner = false " [global] section of smb.conf allow this. so... hit alt-f2 , added line global section of smb.conf file. can share whatever want. safe? i'd make sure keep windows happy incase need it. from thread , guy had way... didn't work me reason did. here's way: smb.conf located in /etc/samba. easy way alt-f2 , type gksu gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf the method used (" usershare owner = false " ) worked great, want make sure it's safe. i think allow others share your home

every time try update premiere pro cc error message , told update failed. read on forum uninstalling , reinstalling application manager problem solved. well, uninstalled , when tried reinstall told that had failed well. know can do? i'm working on mid-2010 macbook pro running osx 10.8.5 i have same problem , have tried unstalling/re-installing application manager.  doesn't help.  premiere pro update still crashes @ 50% point.  tried going online tech support guy adobe no @ all.  i'm worried going miss important updates in future.   adobe - please help! i installed acrobat xi replacing acrobat 9 , program won't recognize scanner.   setup: windows 7 x64, canon mg6120   all other programs, include photoshop, work fine scanner. scanner works in other user profiles (for acrobat xi) on computer, not in main profile. scanner on list of devices acrobat xi, when asked scan, program cannot find scanner. if attempt failed scan, on logout user profile error associated logtransport2.exe. error occurs when acrobat xi attempts scan fails.   i have tried deleting local app data acrobat in user profile, uninstalled , reinstalled printer nothing seems work. believe configuration error in specific user profile, cannot find out information stored.   thanks, i have same problem today too i have adobe acrobat standard 9.5.5 - won't recognize scanner   i've used both acrobat 9.5.5 , scanner (brothers mfc-6490cw) running windows 7 years without problems.  on tues. nov. 19, 2013  used acrobat scan it. starting yesterday nov. 23, 2013 acrobat er

greetings ! started windows 7 machine , wanted have ubuntu well. used "install side side" option install 9.10. had dual boot system (ubuntu 9.10 , windows 7) grub loader. after point, got "black screen" when boot ubuntu, because of display driver incompatibility, specific laptop (lenovo g550). did not bother fix issue, because had going. used wubi install 9.04 inside windows, worked well. want upgrade ubuntu 10.04. want fresh install of 10.04 on 9.10 (which not working). how can ? want without losing on of partitions (windows 7 or ubuntu 9.04) except 1 on 9.10 installed. help. anupama. welcome forums. need use manual install or else. give option choose partitions use / (root), /home , swap exists should automatically find it. have specify format ext4 / , /home if have it. if have /home want save data not check format on /home. can livecd use gparted , delete / & swap p

hi, have hp dv6000 series intel n1000 wireless card. dual - os windows7 , ubuntu 12.04, upgraded 11.10. have been using wireless functions in both windows , 12.04 until recently. after running security updates ubuntu, cannot authenticate wpa2 personal. system sees networks, can connect via ethernet. can connect wireless , ethernet in windows. have been reading lot of threads , followed instructions some. have downgraded driver release 05 03, have run -n command in modprobe.d. have loaded alternate network managers, have deleted connections , re-installed them. have tried connect bootable kubuntu 11.10 cd - no success. using billion 7402nx modem/router. partner has identical laptop running dual os. windows 7 , ubuntu 11.10, , can connect wireless both os. system has had no upgrades or updates. have tried using wep , no security on router, no success. have netcom router @ location can no longer connect either. used connect routers in 12.04 until doing securit
