Thread: dhclient dns info from ISP not reaching resolvconf

i have 12.04 on gateway machine 2 interfaces , eth0 gets ip address , dns server ip addresses whole lan isp via adsl modem.

want dhclient isc-dhcp-client pass isp dns info resolvconf put /etc/resolv.conf isn't happening.

know dns ips coming in modem @ dhcp time because put debugging /etc/dhcp/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/resolvconf , can see them coming through. ip addresses never make /etc/resolv.conf.

until now, i've been using machine lan's gateway debian etch , want running on new machine ubuntu.

installed standard ubuntu , had network-manager installed, de-installed since i'll using box no changes network in long term.

i've dpkg-reconfigured both isc-dhcp-client , resolvconf still no joy.

guess issue either a) due removal of network-manager or (b) missing line of config somewhere, or (c) interfering package - have installed dnsmasq instance (default ubuntu package)

have searched , down internet , can find other problems resolvconf, never one.

massively appreciated!
