Thread: Grub2 keeps ignoring default setting

i used have issue grub2 ignoring default os boot changed /etc/default/grub to:

grub_default="windows 7 (loader) (on /dev/sdb1)"

per thread involved in: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...&postcount=873

had reinstall win7 few months , tonight used boot-repair reinstall grub.

mythbuntu default. made above change , still mythbuntu. did grub_default="windows 7 (loader) (on /dev/sdb1)" and sudo update-grub , still mythbuntu.

wassup?

do have 1 version of mythbuntu , 1 version of windows?

win7 recognized correctly after reinstallation , restoring grub2? assume can boot ok?

spelling of menu entry detected one?

alternatively can use number instead of title. don't forget starts counting 0. if win7 entry fifth example, set 4 , should ok.

these days entries don't move after kernel updates since first time kernel update creates entry called previous versions , after puts older kernels inside making other boot entries stay fixed without moving around.
