Thread: Mounting Drives from external HDD


hello everyone. first time ubuntu , linux user, have yearning learn art of machine talk.

fist explain got fed windows ran killdisk , clean installed ubuntu 12.04. don't plan on turning back. however, traditional animation student attending college , have many files marooned on synology ds211+ external hdd. windows had run synology assistant software packaged product, , worked nicely.

goal version of ftp working can stream , edit files laptop mounted normal drives on windows (without having renter credentials on each login).

oddly enough, fellows @ synology included shell script in install disk.

connected device via ethernet computer. reoccurring notification tab on right of main screen heralds "wired network (and directly below reads) disconnected"

said before, i'm quite new (began learning sed today) , have absolutely no idea i'm doing. i've managed ask around on #ubuntu-beginners irc channel, yet nothing came light. when ran script in terminal opened , closed immediately. i'd appreciate helping hand. of main questions are:

1) code provided synology server versions of linux? if so, possible run script in gui?

2) if synology code offered incompatible desktop version of ubuntu 12.04, possible (and if so, how) connect , map normal drives disk station filezilla?

3) files accessible ubuntu os?

wish post more informative/clear. i'm still learning please bear me.

you don't have nas directly connected pc right? needs go through switch first.

also, don't have synology, don't know assistant does... it's not required.

want accomplish, able done without installing things. suggest trying want without installing things. when people verizon dsl cd or comcast cd, don't install ****. there's nothing on there need system online.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
