SG: Different Color rendering in SG-Projects and PPro-Projects?


hi!

 

i have problem while i'm trying move custom 1 project another.

one project created using edl create speedgrade project (sg 7.1.0, osx).

the other project created directlink, i'm opening premiere pro timeline.

they both use same h.264 footage dslr

 

my problem:

i saved within edl-based speedgrade project.

if open premiere pro project (with same footage in it) , apply footage outcome different!

 

the premiere pro project becomes lighter, , more desaturated (especially red areas) after applying look.

 

after realized compared footage without looks applied. footage looks brighter , less saturated when open premiere pro project whereas viewing within speedgrade project makes appear little darker , more saturated.

 

is known problem?

can reproduce this?

what you're seeing here qt gamma/color shift. it's quicktime issue , visible high compressed qt's (like h.264)

differences between pr/sg:

pr & sg (in direct link mode) compensates color/luminance shifts, sg (native) used edl doesn't. that's why you're seeing slight difference when applying .look dslr clips in pr/sg direct link

to remain same in new direct link project have transcode h.264 clips uncompressed codec (such qt uncompressed) out of sg, re-link in pr , send again sg

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
