Thread: Wine grabs sound device. Can't play other sounds.


it seems wine grabbing sound device. cannot play other sounds videos , music while wine running.

if matters any, program i'm running in wine vbalink (visualboy advance fork). when disable sound in emulator, can play video , music again.

if playing audio when start wine, emulator give error. "cannot create directsound". , wine has no sound.

think understand ubuntu handles requests sound card through pulseaudio?
don't know whether relevant, wine configuration says using winealsa.drv sound.

thanks.

switching winepulse might solve issue, cause other problems disoriented sound output.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
