catalog back up- Elements 12


when catalog using elements 12, actual images, or copies of images?

 

i store pictures on external hard drive. on hard drive, have 2 folders, 1 atual images , 1 'catalog backup". accidentally backed catalog "actual images" folder, , don't know files can delete "clean up" actual images folder.

 

also, can delete previous versions of elements (i have 7 , 9 still on computer) if upgraded elements 12?

backups copies of images. question unclear ...

if used pse function file->backup catalog, backup images have file names beginning letter b. these can deleted if want clean folder.

 

however, making backups different folder on same hard disk originals not backup. duplication. @ point in future, disk fail, , instead of 2 copies of photos, have 0 copies of photos, , i'm guessing won't happy that. backups must go on different physical disk (not different partition of same disk)

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
