Thread: Sound problems on my laptop


hi there, new ubuntu 12.04, , have begun sound problems speakers. use google chrome internet browser, , every once in while sound videos or music of sudden become fuzzy , crackly, affecting of tabs , new tabs open up. way have found fixes closing chrome , reopening it. however, affect entire computer well, making me have restart in order sound quality back. don't know if operating system or speakers, never had sort of problem when using windows on it. becoming ever increasing hassle. there can do?

try installing ubuntu-restricted-extras, it's in sofrware center, synaptic or usig terminal:
code:
 sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
also if can try player in browser.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
