Thread: Harddrive woes


hi guys,

new problem occurred today may result in me buying new hdd.

ssh's home server morning , presented fact cannot anything. after logging in, running command results in:
code:
-bash: /bin/su: input/output error'.
i cannot restart because of problem can't try until later.

fsck results in:

i cannot open /var/log/messages because of input/output error.

can access usb external hdds.

have kind of superblock/partition corruption? there else can run more information?

nothing?

should buy new hdd , load backup onto it? or there else can try?
