Thread: Ubuntu, linux mint, and others


i have question regarding installation of ubuntu 12.04, alongside linux mint, if install ubuntu first , linux mint , give both of them same partition home directory, 1 mess settings on other distro, true backgrounds, themes , on...

how coul stop this, should install without home directory , specify partition in fstab file gets run while booting 1 distro or another? there no viable, more state of art workaround?

i had problem, workaround have 1 large partition personal data on eg. documents, downloads, music, videos etc.
use small partition 15-20 gigs each system install.
have own home partiton, & configs. can linked same data partition.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
