Thread: Can not create new partitiong, max primary partitions used?


i have lvm on server we've been creating new partitions off of main disk (which datastore in vmware vsphere) , have apparently run problem there many primary partitions defined, , can not create extended logical volume

unfortunately lvm's volume nearing capacity, need figure out soon. know how add partition physical volume volume group , expand lvm, how free space useable partition here?

make new disk in vmware , use that. if have used maximum of 4 primary partitions on existing disk delete primary partition , recreate part of new extended partition.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
