Thread: make a different user root (or have two root users)

hi! messed system, fixing complete reinstall original username "dad" primary user , restoring saved files. still gave me problems (such no menu) - created new user "mr_d" , moved files "dad" "mr_d," except configuration files. it's working great - first had give "mr_d" root privileges , change ownership of files "root" "mr_d."

unfortunately, there glitches remaining -- such when install program, comes automatically "root" owner. there way can make "mr_d" root user instead of "dad" -- ? or if make them both "root," helpful. can see down road few years when new laptop or something, these permissions/ownerships goofed unless can replace "dad" "mr_d" primary user (or have 2 "roots") , let things owned "root."

thoughts appreciated...this has cost me tons of time...

there is, , can be, 1 root. giving user sudo privileges simple, though.

there no "primary" user. give ownership of user files user should own them , stop mucking others.
