Thread: Create larger than 4GB Casper file?

originally posted c.s.cameron http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...8#post10155778
casper-rw files fat32 limits them 4gb.
if want more 4gb can make casper-rw partition , home-rw partition.
these partitions limited size of drive.

here step step using usb-creator, universal should similar. if prefer unetbootin let me know:

boot live cd.
plug in flash drive.
start partition editor
create 1 gb fat32 partition, (on left side of bar). (size optional)
create 1.5 gb ext3 partition right of this, labeled "casper-rw". (ext2 , ext4 work).
create partition in remaining space , label "home-rw". (optional, creates separate home partition)
close partition editor.
un-mount , re-mount flash drive.
start "create live usb startup disk", (usb-creator).
select "discard on shutdown".
press "make startup disk.
when usb-creator finishes, run "gksu nautilus"
select disk / syslinux / text.cfg , added "persistent" shown below:
append noprompt cdrom-detect/try-usb=true persistent file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.gz quiet splash --
shutdown, remove cd, reboot.
actually signed ask question

have boot live cd or can edit partition in windows?

post moved own thread.
