Thread: 12.04 installation crashes due to crashed colord


hi everyone,

i'm unable make fresh install of 12.04 on pretty dated computer. installation process crashes after choose user picture. there message "colord crashed sigabrt in raise ()".

interestingly, i've tried fresh install of lubuntu 11.10, , crashed due colord crash. installing ubuntu 10.10 went without hitch, though.

suspect there hardware problem. here details:

cpu amd athlon(tm) xp 3200+
ram 2.0 gib
video card: nvidia geforce 6800

please me solve

another piece of information - when click "report problem", refuses due bunch of obsolete packages present on system. (it fresh install of 12.04 lts)

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
