Thread: ubuntu not showing in GNU GRUB Boot menu

i applied updates on ubuntu , when restarted booted windows first rebooted ubuntu. boot menu shows windows 7 , recovery environment options no ubuntu or other linux options. can boot ubuntu again or options back?

jays2kings,

welcome ubuntu forums!

first, try editing recovery option in grub menu. press 'e' edit menu. cursor end of 'linux' line , remove "recovery" or "single" , press f10 boot. if boots, let know. if not:

boot ubuntu livecd, install boot repair, , click "recommended repair" button. easiest solution. if doesn't work, run info script , post contents of results.txt or link provided boot repair.

link boot repair in signature line.
