Thread: Suspend and hibernation problems on Laptop.


i have acer aspire 5515, 1.6ghz amd, 3gb ram, ati xpress 1200 graphics. i'm running ubuntu 12.04 lts 32 bit.

cannot suspend or hibernate, i've tired many of options i've found via google (scripts, uswsusp, etc, etc) nothing works.

when go hibernate happens system goes blank screen , never shuts off, left 15 mins, nothing, end having power down , restart.

if attempt suspend, seems work properly, not come back, see screen flicker ever , never comes up, tried 10 minutes too.

way fix this? laptop without hibernate/suspend pretty useless honest.

i installed tuxonice , resolved problem.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
