Thread: 65537 Bad Sectors


while trying add second hard drive computer, (a 500 gb sata unfortunately doesn't work @ all) booted off liveusb , noticed on main 1tb drive have 65,537 bad sectors , disk utility giving me warning it. computer's still under warranty new drive, want know how concerned should first?

if me problem 500gb that'd great. there should nothing wrong it's been sitting in it's packaging ~6 or months after year or 2 of usage. when connect it's self or alongside main 1tb, computer hangs on post delay after being turned on , makes no attempt boot anything. if connect drive after booting windows 7/ubuntu isn't detected.

you post gsmartcontrol (s.m.a.r.t.) report both drives here (or smartctl, text version). "bad sectors" mean lot of things, though of course extremely high number if real.

can install gsmartcontrol/smartmontools in live cd session.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
