hi forum,

few months put nice little home server. used following components:

rock mobo amd e-350 cpu
8 gb ram
350 watt psu

installed ubuntu 11.10 on server 250 gb hdd operating system. have 2 500 gb raid 1 movies , important storage. system has been rock solid 6 months.

last week bought hauppauge wintv-hvr-1250 video card. installed card , went dmegs , see os sees card.

installed mythbuntu begin recording live tv. however, once mythbuntu installed many problems began. 1 major issue no longer vnc machine since "think" mythweb conflicting vnc session. also, machine not shutdown. read might caused lirdc (something infrared). anyway, removed mythbuntu best can.

installed kaffeine work simple recordings. far content program still having issues. example, able record programs large. 15 minute program takes 1.2gb. not bad unable stream dnla tv.

know if system weak stream file? have many hd movies , tv shows .avi filles , have no problems streaming files. router netgear n300 wnr2000. appreciate , suggestions other people have.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
