Thread: Configuring LXDE for Low Vision Use.

i using barebones lxde desktop, , need configuring low vision use.

first of all, want set consistent large size fonts system-wide. understanding fontconfig can me problem, cannot find simple explanation of how make fonts large. open suggestions easy read default font.

also looking theme provides both high contraast, visibility of widgets, , has all-white text , all-black backgrounds. high contrast inverse theme provide gnome-accessibility-themes, blue background bright eyes , cannot changed. found theme accepts custom colors, making white-on-black renders widgets(most notably check-boxes , radio buttons) invisible.

using firefox web browser , have 3 problems related vision: 1, configuring firefox's font settings large print causes font feilds overlap. 2, disable images protect eyes bright colors, replacing icons text makes pages hard read , agravates problem 1. extension auto-hide thumbnails , full-sized images while displaying icons , allowing me unhide/rehide images 1 @ time. 3, have view flash-based sites school, over-ride white text/black background text. solution these problems appreciated.

also, not afraid of command line, , prefer command-line based solutions problems appropriate.
