Thread: Ubuntu 15 - boot - cannot display this video mode


i downloaded latest ubuntu build. burned iso cd , ran demo cd without issue. installed ubuntu accepting automatic updates, mp3 player, etc. on first boot on dell flat panel display receive - auto detect (analog input) cannot display video mode optimum resolution 1440x 900 60hz.

pc - hp pavilion media center m8100n tv pc - 15 pin video connector on system board - not have separate video card.

assume ubuntu having trouble talking flat panel display. tried old dell trinitron monitor received - out of scan range - when booting ubuntu.

beyond going out , purchasing generic video card can guys me fix issue? there key combo can hit on boot - "like windows safe mode" ubuntu settings - i'll need advice on running commands, etc

i searched through old computer stuff , located ati video card - installed in hp pc , can boot ubuntu , see screen display settings view flat panel "laptop" screen , resolution keep desktop centred on screen 832 x 624 (4:3) working resolution not greatest - assume due old video card or ubuntu drivers.

still on board integrated card working - please see previous post , offer suggestions.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
