Thread: How do I know if the blacklist worked?

i realized had blacklist rt2800 because since installing debian internet not working. 2 drivers attempting same device.

tried
code:
echo "blacklist rt2800usb" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
when first executed command had permission denied.
tried again. time executed su , put in password. terminal didn't indicate result.

code:
ztcoracat@mock:~$ echo "blacklist rt2800usb" >> /etc/modeprobe.d/.blacklist.conf bash:/etc/modprobe.d/.blacklist.conf: permission denied
so tried su , passoword
code:
ztcoracat@mock:~$su password root@mock:/home/ztcoracat# echo"blacklist rt2800usb" >> /etc.modprobe.d?blacklist.conf root@mock:/home/ztcoracat#
the internet connection not working. authentication required wireless network opens when click connect network icon spins , doesn't connect.
did execute wrong?

according debian wiki page rt2870sta correct driver debian 6.0.5 sqeeze.

have went forum , made clear me need blacklist driver.

http://wiki.debian.org/rt2870sta

i've been trying connection work , have not been able to.
