Thread: The CPU has been disabled

hello,

i've been using ubuntu 12.04 on old laptop in vmware workstation 7.x without problem.

today got new laptop core i7 vpro processor, , installed vmware workstation 7.x on again.

when trying use ubuntu 12.04 image error:

"
cpu has been disabled guest operating system. need power off or reset virtual machine @ point.
"

googled it, no answer worked me. hits got users trying run mac osx on there vmware.

did try editing vmware config file options op pae = true, , more mac forums.

no go.

thought lets try install new fresh image.
install dvd not boot, producing same error.

lost : !

nb: windows vm's work charme. ubuntu's not boot.

help.

i'm seeing same thing - did find solution chance?
