Thread: SSH w/PuTTY Freezing Session


i've had issue on multiple amazon ec2 instances running ubuntu 12.04 command run causes of terminal redraw causes ssh session become unresponsive.

i'm using putty connect these instances , i've tried multiple versions of putty. .60, .62, , development snapshot. of commands make lock 'top', 'cat', terminal multiplexer, , 'vim'.

i've tried multiple character encodings, iso-8859-1 latin encoding , utf-8 , different keyboard emulation settings. /etc/default/locale set utf-8.

tried using poderosa ssh client windows , had same issue. i'm thinking issue lies server configuration, don't know why, because stock install.

appreciated.

update: don't think putty related, because confirmed cygwin has same error.

any ideas?

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
