LR 5 Library module issues


i have read problems other have been having lr5 & library module running slow. have been using lr5.2 since released no issues of slowness, issue had position of images shown in lr did not match shown in finder. opening & closing lr seemed correct this.

 

i have mac version 10.8.5. 2.8 ghz intel core i5, 4gb 1333 mhz memory & 3tb hard drive. have 56,000 images in 1 catalogue.

 

everything fine until morning. last night uploaded 700 images. morning fine. had shot images use hdr, decided update photomatix pro hdr version 4 version 5. despite following instruction automatic download & install did not load plug in lr & kept loading version 4. deleted photomatix 4 & 5 computer & re-loaded version 5 only.

 

from on library module has locked & can not access catalogue. have logged out & in several times. have lr back-up & have exported key words file.

 

i photographer not computer expert if able make suggestions need simple.

 

is uninstalling both photomatix pro & lightroom & reinstalling them option?

what need carefull not lose information on images?

 

any appreciated.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
