Thread: 12.04 wireless mouse problem on brand new laptop


hey all,

i'm having odd problem wireless mouse on fresh install of 12.04.

first hardware:

laptop new dell xps 14 (l421x), ivy bridge i7 processor, usb3, intel 4000 graphics dedicated nvidia graphics well.

mouse logitech revolution w/ 'darkfield' (i.e. - works on glass)


now, problem:

upon boot, receiver indeed listed in lsusb. however, mouse doesn't show in xinput --list, though (maybe 1 in 5 boots). additionally, after suspend/resume cycle, mouse disappear xinput --list

now, odd part:

unplugging , replugging mouse few times (sometimes once, 5-6 times), can show in xinput --list

wiredness continues! after resume, x11 virtual pointer still shows in xinput --list, mouse dosen't work!
