Thread: iLook 320 Genius webcam driver


hi guys,
have ubuntu 12.04 installed on old hp nc6120 laptop. issue having sound on 'genius ilook 320 webcam' not consistent. goes , down, people can hear me goes bad , on. external camera connected via usb. lately can hear buzzing static electricity.
not sure can here. beginner regarding linux. can somehow update driver in ubuntu? tried genius website windows drivers available.
how update drive in ubuntu in first place?
suggestions/guidence welcomed.

hi, @ first, ensure system up-to date
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
terminal. then, try check closed drivers (try "drivers" in unity menu). or try ubuntu software centre.
if don't find anything, try these instructions, should work 12.04

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
