Thread: Small issue with USB live booting

hi everyone, i'm having hope small issue try ubuntu without installing. i'm trying run ubuntu live see if win7 install has corrupted point thinks has (as in, having lost photos , documents), can't live boot work. when boot computer (asus g73), message flashes - 'error: "prefix" not set' , proceeds text based 3 option menu. when hit try without installing, screen disappears, usb stick's activity light flashes few seconds, nothing happens. in 1 instance left computer few minutes see if loaded, never did. should mention house mate had tried before me, same usb stick, , worked him.

if has ideas, appreciated. thanks!

since you're getting 'try' screen, , friend used successfully, suspect contents have become corrupted somehow. reload usb stick beginning.

ntfs corruption. can windows? if so, run chkdsk -- check , repair disk. , shut machine down properly, no pushing power button.
