Thread: l have a problem with grub


it's 1st time use linux plz keep in mind ,now downloaded new ubunto 12.04 x64 , created bootable usb flash disk ,then installed after removing windows 7 .the problem while installing it said somthing boot file missing ,i went online through phone , people said contine fix problem later , did.

after system rebooted gave me black window grub crap ,i went online again , spent houers , fixes run ubuntu cd (which don't have) or flash disk (which have) fix terminal ,but doesn't work ,i can't open intalled ubunto or demo ubunto on flash.

i'm using hp pavilion dv6 intel centreno 2 processor

usb flash drive not work @ all? have select in bios or use 1 time boot key choose it. systems seem call flash drives hard disks not usb devices.
best have repair usb or cd. otherwise difficult.

when grub, get? grub menu?, grub> or grub rescue> ?

video card have , did choose install restricted drivers? issues related video driver.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
