Thread: Question about GNOME Disk Utility in Ubuntu 12.04


does included read-only benchmark write stuff disk.

know says read-only, how can test read speeds , access times without writing stuff, use files on disk or read empty blocks?

i'm curious this.

why read-only benchmark need write disk? name says, testing read performance therefore reading existing bits , bytes hdd.
