Thread: ubuntu 12.04 problem with screen brightness


hello! using ubuntu 12.04 on samsung rc530-s02. since have updated system, have strange problem screen's brightness. normaly pc had 7 different brightness values (and use 7 of them!), have olny 2, because if using highest grade of brightness , want decrease it, screen goes straight lowest grade of brightness. same thing happens other way round.
underline has happened since have updated last time system.
totaly, problem has happened me twice, because trying solve it, have re-installed once computer. after that, have bravely updated again, , problem re-occurred.
becasue of great number of upgrades update manager installs toghether, don't know of theese bad one.

can me?

when boot computer, hold shift key down, see grub, choose older kernel list, boot system list item, , see if still have problem

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
