Thread: ubuntu 11.04 flash drive install question

i have ubuntu 11.04 installed on 16g flash drive.

have 3 questions.

1) why every time log on linux os , later when log on microsoft xp on netbook ssd internal c drive, time , date reset linux default date , time in xp?

c drive should never have been touch when am linux os environment.

2)when in linux, , plug in flash drive, shows on ground screen, 16g flash plug in ubuntu not show up.

why that? how can , check properties , see how space have left on 16g flash drive?

3) when plug 16g flash drive in netbook in xp environment.

properties shows have 437 byte used , 975m free.

not show ubuntu os , fact 16g flash drive.

tells me have 9g flash drive in xp.
why that?

that because mounted root file system. can view choosing 'file system' computer menu in sidebar of file browser.

that because ubuntu written flash drive using file system xp cannot understand, , shows persistant storage part in compatible file system. (it ignores rest).
