Thread: How to properly configure KDE


so tried kubuntu little while , decided install opensuse. after messing opensuse awhile, have determined prefer kubuntu because of huge amount of community support , software manager (apt-get vs zypper). anyways, since have started using opensuse, have noticed couple differences in way kde behaves. before rid of opensuse, make sure can reproduce behavior in kubuntu.

1. grid desktop , grouping desktop
in desktop settings on kubuntu 12.04 there several layouts choose from. are: newspaper layout, folder view, desktop, , search , launch. in opensuse additionally have option select grid desktop , grouping desktop. grid desktop , know how enable in kubuntu.

2. system tray
have noticed system tray widget on panel behaves differently. example, in kubuntu, when have deluge running , minimized system tray, have right-click , select "show deluge"(and shows minimized). must follow same procedure other programs minimized system tray. in opensuse need left click once on icon , maximizes program.
