Thread: Boot from USB

so, installed ubuntu 12.04 via usb.
couldnt boot ubuntu if hadnt usb plugged in.

first of all:
how fix this?
(ive read alot of guides etc fix nothing works)

second of all:
ive lost usb-stick , cant boot computer -.-
did purchase new usb-stick , made
bootable "pen drive linux's usb installer" (as did last time).
, when boot computer stick in asks me if want reistall ubuntu.

here's question:
can find specific boot file?

*i can make due have usb plugged in... want use laptop again.

alot

looks installed grub on usb instead of hdd. can try fix running https://help.ubuntu.com/community/boot-repair live boot session. reinstall, there should option "other" below it. can use make custom install. should make sure able manually set partitions if choose this.
