Thread: Hibernation in 12.04 - why a problem?

i have read reason leaving hibernation option out because not work hardware. personal perspective bit puzzled though, , reason this:

have been using same laptop more 2 years now. switched between xubuntu , ubuntu, , cannot remember noticeable problems hibernation (or suspend).

since 12.04 have been using lubuntu, , hibernation seems work once in every 3 tries , suspend has been unreliable network connection gone (and need reboot back) , crash entirely , present me fresh lubuntu login screen.

if problems i've had since 12.04 present in past (being on same hardware), i'm pretty sure have noticed , remembered, annoying every time happens.

did hibernation (and suspend) work in past (which sounds unlikely... ubuntu lose ability make work?) or has been patchy time... sounds unlikely cannot remember being awful before 12.04. or possible ubuntu/xubuntu works ok while lubuntu has problem?

i'm confused... comments?

ideas?
