Thread: Acer 5520 and Ubuntu 12.04 = no wifi


hello all,

have taken dead laptop world of living, , there may still hardware issues possibly software not blame, perhaps can help....

have had dead hard drive, totally wiped, instead of buying windows have opted leap world of ubuntu, new @ this. point made not have windows system boot , im aware there may easy (ish) fix if could.

have acer aspire 5520 , installed ubuntu 12.04 , find wifi not work, seems not working cant see wifi networks. have button on keyboard turn on/off wifi nothing , have found many posts other members have had same issue none of solutions on threads have solved problem.

let me know other info need able begin help, , hints towards fix fantastic!

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
