Why do some versions of Flash Player require a new DMG to be downloaded through a web browser?


why versions of adobe flash player require new dmg on os x downloaded through web browser? annoyance users have go through downloading new dmg , installing through method. why can not in-place download , install normal delta updates?

 

in addition, there no way adobe implement new update process browsers not required shutdown if person updating? make more sense put things in place user , have these new values put effect when browser shutdown. unless browser shutdown, whatever version installed , running continue. sort of privacy problem adobe?

first point: don't know why don't have pkg file download, other it's harder unscrupulous folks make dmg pass "gatekeeper" checksum.

 

second point: since browser uses flash player plugin, trying update while browser running akin trying change oil while driving down freeway @ 70mph. , there's whole "admin password needed" thing, prevent "blind updates".

 

you can download offline installer: flash player (for mac os x) and run whenever want.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
