Problems retaining page size when exporting or converting excel and word documents

we in , create lot of documents use in uk. i'm having difficulties exporting and/or converting 2010 excel or word project pdf while retaining original page layout size. original files set a4 paper size , yet every time export, convert or print pdf converted 8 1/2"x 11".  current work around bring newly created pdf acrobat xi pro , there print again pdf @ a4 retain full size checked, creates huge white border around document (essentially content still 8 1/2" x 11" printing on a4 paper).

 

i need able created a4 documents in uk, regardless of technical skill, can print need final document in a4 size.

 

all documents have been set in source program a4 documents.

 

for printing pdf, have gone adobe pdf document properties , set adobe pdf page size a4, gone paper/quality advanced settings , set paper/output size a4, still end 8 1/2" x 11"

 

for exporting have gone preferences > advanced settings > default paper size , put in actual length , width measurements a4 export final file ends 9.04 x 11.70.

 

and if select final excel or word documents in file folder , convert them pdf there don't seem export options, end 8 1/2" x 11".

 

is there conversion method read native page size , retain during export? need find easy workflow accomplish this, preferably can batch if @ possible.

well found 1 work around. if go onto system printer settings , set default page size adobe printer a4 when print pdf stays a4. still can't export or batch convert a4 @ least i'm able work done. not sure why should need change default paper size since have option change paper size @ time of print, ever works guess..
