first of all, want many, many has worked on tuxguitar. program awesome, , want keep going.

, forums have been full of spam months now.

try , following:
*start kickstarter funding
*find can actively maintain tuxguitar funding kickstarter
*find can actively maintain tuxguitar forums, least as removing spam
*get decent hosting + domain name site
*work on adding features + bug fixes

i'm have little time dev work @ moment, provide funding myself.

of issues see worked on:

bug fixes:
*ensure sound works out of box in ubuntu. have done fresh installs on @ least 10 different systems, , there problem sound in every install. either doesn't play nice other apps, or sound doesn't work @ all.
*there should bundled option timitdity + decent soundfonts out of box.
*sound terribly laggy. skips on place. works fine when export midi , convert wav timidity. problem java perhaps? not thing when music software can't keep beat.
*trying type number start/stop measure number text box glitchy.
*defaults not saved in dialog boxes. (eg have uncheck check box every single time, can cause problems don't realize until down line)

new features:
*copying , pasting measures other files. (afaik isn't possible)
*export wav + mp3 (for folks uncomfortable using terminal)
*"strum" flag, sounds doing quick strum of notes.
*ability mix levels on individual drum instruments (sometimes kick way quiet example) more of timidity thing.
*ritardano number of measures.
*ability increase/decrease tempos in song factor. (so if slowing song down learn it, don't have change arbitrary number of tempo settings hand).
*mixer window pretty unwieldy , needs cleanup. track names on tracks help, along way type in number volume.
*tux guitar doesn't remember height of track listing window @ bottom. in cases, small enough screen , lots of tracks, becomes annoying fast.

not going lie, absolutely *hate* amount of memory + cpu java apps use. love see natively built elf binary, realize insane amount of work.

great initiative! tuxguitar brilliant program, though has flaws (midi export of percussion tracks 1 bumped into), , can hope development continue on it. java not thing, don't know if can something, though i'm willing try.
