Thread: Navigation and search problems with 12.04


hi,

have installed fresh/new version of ubuntu 12.04, being on 10.04 beforehand. navigation has no task bar @ bottom before, , menu navigation difficult, many previous options 'missing'.

also, biggest problem search file/s. nautilus doesn't have option search following ..

'word' in specific folder or phrase/word in file/s

can't find out how use command line either.

use unity while , end liking it, has learning curve. reverted gnome-panel

gnome3 classic similar old gnome2
sudo apt-get install gnome-panel
on login screen click on cog-wheel/star , choose

open ubuntu software centre , search ‘gnome-panel’, hit install , log out.
