hi managed delete ~/.bashrc file while playing ps1. copied 1 12.04 install have no prob there. if modif ps1 run source ~/.bashrc wont change prompt.
code:
if [ "$color_prompt" = yes ];     ps1='${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[01;31m\]\u@\h\[\033[00m\]:\[\033[01;34m\]\w\[\033[00m\]\# '
if change part of file changes prompt in terminal
code:
# if xterm set title user@host:dir case "$term" in xterm*|rxvt*)    ps1="\[\e]0;${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\u@\h: \w\a\]$ps1"
tty stays same time. run source ~/.bashrc everytime. ideas why wont change since deleting original file new wont work??
