Thread: 12.04 black screen on install (usb live)


i'm new ubuntu , when boot menu comes choices:
"try ubuntu without installing"
"install ubuntu"
"check disc defects"

so, 3 options. when clicking of these 3 options nothing happen - screen goes black , stays black. did search on issue, , people talk clicking f6 , use nomodeset option. problem is, nothing happen when click f6, can't click f-buttons @ all. thing can click "e" , "c"

"press enter boot selected os, "e" edit commands before booting or "c" command-line.

used unetbootin program on windows 7 create live usb. computer asus zenbook ux32vd , i'm trying install ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64.iso please me out

well, first, simple select option wish, press e , add nomodeset end (but before --) , press enter.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
