Thread: Confused about installation and partitions.


hi,

i'm not sure going on computer , let me know of means. accidently downloaded ubuntu twice. read installation overwrite other installation. downloaded both of them next windows 7. i've attached photo of gparted found. have no devices hooked computer in devices column of window says have 747gb , 128gb attached machine. amount of space partitioned 1 ubuntu 630 or 750 total , other same, since overwrote it, i'm assuming there 1 partition. need understanding going on computer. education on have done or going on appreciated! there way fix happening here?

as can see, shows windows ntfs partitions. guess used wubi, not dual boot next windows (along side). not correct. wubi installs inside windows, not see linux partitions when looking @ hdd.

wubi, don't use , have no idea happen if install twice, install on old 1 or not. when want remove wubi, in programs other software.

if have more 1 disk, should select in gparted other disk too, in drop down box top right. screenshot posted shows 1 750gb hdd. , no ubuntu partitions on it.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
