Clicked "update " for flashplayer and got a virus


i got automatic update adobe flashplayer , clicked , got virus. have mcafee virus protection , didn't catch it. mcafee wants $89.99 remove , not happy. deleted adobe flashplayer computer , tried reinstall mcafee won't let through , sends message saying flashplayer has virus / tojan. ? no kidding.  cable company told me call number , want $149 rid of virus. do ? don't plan on paying rid of virus.  use windows vista , tried installing flashplayer update flashplayer 11.

adobe not, , never has been, in business, or practice of distributing viruses.
wherever got "update" from, not legitimate adobe flash installer, , didn't come site or company.

while it's regrettable system infected, must understand there literally thousands of "fake" updates out there, (illegally used) adobe logos. adonbe can't keep or remove them before more pop take place.

flash player activex (internet explorer)

flash player plug-in (all other browsers)

 

if mcafee shows either of these contain virus, it's "false positive".

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
