Thread: sysctl.conf Values Do Not Change

i've got 3 values in /etc/sysctl.conf not change after reboot. other values i've set change, except these three:

vm.dirty_background_ratio = 20
vm.dirty_ratio = 80
vm.dirty_writeback_centisecs = 1500

however, if run sudo sysctl -p, update. ideas why these won't update on boot? thanks!

sorry double-post, looks has been bug in ubuntu 6 years now. here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...cps/+bug/50093.

so, question is, how can run "/sbin/sysctl -p /etc/sysctl.conf" , "/etc/init.d/sysfsutils restart" root after login without asking password?

i'm surprised has been bug long (unless i'm mistaken)!
