Thread: How can I completely erase all traces of data from a hard drive?


hi,
i've been given old hard drive mate @ work had sensitive information on it.
i'm trying find way remove traces of data it.
far i've used live cd , ran 3 follow commands:
1. sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=1
2. sudo dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/sda bs=1
3. sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=1
have removed or there else can clear hard drive?
in advance can offer.
