Thread: 12.04 Annoying features


so updated ubuntu 12.04 lst, , 2 new features annoy hell our of me:

1. when have muti monitor (twin view / side side) setup, , enable:
system settings > appearance > behavior > auto-hide launcher, annoying feature (or maybe bug) mouse stick within unity hot spot region until wiggle mouse free.

2. if me run multi monitors @ different resolutions , drag gui window monitor monitor b, , window bigger visible area of monitor b. when double click title bar of window make fill whole screen, jump monitor a.

not sure if call these bugs, more annoying features , reason posted them here hopeful issues fixed or @ lest clarification why.

feel bad first post on here negative, more of irc guy, form user. normal have things great work ubuntu team does.

else experience these issues ubuntu 12.04?

ok fixed issue one, can go system settings > displays , set following:

launcher placement = laptop (this stop unity bar appearing on both screens)
sticky edges = off (this stop mouse cursor getting stuck between screens)


second issue still remains little annoying, can live issue 1 out of way.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
