i understand adobe permits user download 2 versions of lr per purchase, might desktop , laptop computers. however, can't find whether must same operating system version each copy. when bought lr 3, had select osx or windows version prior purchasing download selection offered after purchase when upgraded lr 5. so, can download 1 version osx & 1 windows 7? play if photos & catalogue on portable hd, shared between laptop & desktop of different os's? thanks. the lightroom license cross-platform. means can install on either windows or mac, or both. license stipulates can use 1 version or installation @ time. , catalog can used either platform. so, yes, work together. good afternoon ubuntu community i'd share piece of wisdom picked today. i've been troubleshooting ubuntu 12.04 lts on thinkpad w520 in spare time past month. ran 10.04 lts reliably year, after installing 12.04 had manner of issues. thinkpad has nvidia quadro 2000m discrete graphics card, had been blaming partially problems, contradictory resources regarding nouveau vs. nvidia-current , nvidia optimus. digress. running nouveau driver, , it's working great far. laptop not reliably boot. show blinking cursor, or purple screen, or black screen. after awhile recovery mode didn't work, freeze @ "starting udevd" phase. way fixed thinkpad boot process editing /etc/default/grub: code: grub_cmdline_linux_default="nox2apic quiet splash" then, obviously, running update-grub. after adding nox2apic switch, laptop seems reliably boot again. few other sources on internet confirm ongoing problem, not ubuntu: https://bbs...

i have been struggling common error code of a12e6 during installation of adobe's creative cloud desktop app, required in order use of creative cloud saas services , applications.   having been frustrated lack of knowledge provided adobe support, getting nowhere. cryptic error no specific cause. however, when paid , downloaded adobe acrobat xi professional, tried install , got far more specific error installer. acrobat installer failed because mac os x drive formatted case-sensitive volume. adobe's products not function on such drives, makes sense since microsoft pc-based, offers no support case sensitivity on fat or ntfs volumes.   to correct issue, make timecapsule backup of entire mac os x system. reboot mac while holding down command-r can recovery mode. launch disk utility. select startup disk , choose erase tab. change format "journaled" or "journaled encrypted" don't choose either of case-sensitive options.   now, click erase button , drive formatt...

i'm running os x mavericks, , have cc installed, along cs6. amongst many (many) issues i've encountered cc, noticed still cs6 menulet in menu bar, cc menulet.   how can remove cs6 menulet, i'm left cc version. when launch cs6 app manager, switches cc app manager, can't access cs6-specific preferences.   the cc manage shows me cs6 , cc products, why cs6 manager insist on wasting space , cpu cycles in menu bar?   has managed turn off? mmm ... me then?   well, if else having same issue, have found way around it.   i opened dreamweaver cs6, chose 'check updates' menu, , cs6 manager popped – there, set preferences correctly.   all sorted now. not sure if work other cs6 apps (i think can remember indesign cs6 opening cc app manager), give try.   k@ More discussions in Adobe Creative Cloud adobe
